Political Realignment—Plateau Governor Mutfwang Joins APC, Vows Unity and Peace.
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the All Progressives Congress (APC) officially welcomed Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, into the party during a highly attended event in Jos.
This occasion signifies Plateau’s integration into the ruling party and reinforces APC’s supremacy in the North-Central geopolitical region.
In his welcoming remarks, Plateau State APC Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature, characterized the event as historic, stating that Plateau had opted for a “tent of possibilities.”
“Plateau has consistently been our priority. This represents a realm of opportunities. We are a divinely favored community, and our God embodies all possibilities,” Bature stated. “We have embraced His Excellency and are committed to doing everything within our power to ensure the success of the Plateau State government.” He added.
Delivering a goodwill message, Chairman of the North-Central Governors’ Forum and Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, said Governor Mutfwang made the right decision by joining the APC.
“Today we are complete in the North Central. Plateau, Kogi, Niger, Benue and Kwara are all APC,” Sule declared. “There is no team that can beat the Bola Ahmed Tinubu–Kashim Shettima team, and we welcome you fully into this family”
In a goodwill message, the Chairman of the North-Central Governoirs’ Forum and Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, expressed that Governor Mutfwang made a commendable choice by aligning with the APC.

Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, described the APC as a united family bringing renewed hope to Plateau State.
“APC is a family that is strong, bold and courageous,” Uzodimma said. “Today, the hopes of Plateau people are renewed, prosperity is touching the state, and expectations are rising.”
Earlier, the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, stated that the governor’s participation represented unity and strength for the party.
“Today, I am wearing two hats: as a son of Plateau and as the National Chairman of the APC,” Yilwatda remarked. “All political entities that competed in Plateau in 2023 have merged into one robust and united APC. In 2027, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will achieve a significant victory in Plateau.
