A 22-year-old Nigerian student from Plateau State, Isaac Satlat, has been shot dead in South Africa, sparking renewed concerns among Nigerians over the safety of foreign nationals in the country.
The tragic incident was made public by Charles Awuzie, a Nigerian resident in South Africa, who shared details on Facebook on Thursday. According to the post, Isaac, whose father is a Christian missionary based in South Africa, was initially reported missing after he was allegedly kidnapped while driving his father’s car in Moshongo Province, on the outskirts of Pretoria.
Reports indicate that Isaac’s body was later discovered two days after he went missing. The young student was said to be preparing for graduation next month and had plans to relocate to Canada to further his education before his life was tragically cut short.
