About the Role
The successful candidate will provide engaging online mathematics lessons to young learners. The teacher will work with students individually or in small groups, identify their learning needs, and develop lessons that help them build confidence and improve their mathematical skills.
The role involves using digital teaching tools, interactive activities and assessments to make mathematics easier and more enjoyable for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess individual students’ learning styles, strengths and areas that need improvement.
- Develop online lesson plans aligned with relevant primary school mathematics curricula.
- Deliver engaging one-on-one and small-group mathematics lessons online.
- Use digital whiteboards, virtual manipulatives and gamified learning tools during lessons.
- Teach core primary mathematics topics, including:
- Arithmetic
- Place value
- Fractions
- Geometry
- Measurement
- Basic word-problem-solving strategies
- Track students’ academic progress through quizzes, formative assessments and session notes.
- Provide regular and constructive progress updates to parents or guardians.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage students to develop confidence and overcome mathematics anxiety through patience, motivation and positive reinforcement.
Requirements
Candidates interested in this position should have a strong understanding of primary-level mathematics and the ability to communicate mathematical concepts clearly to young learners.
Experience with online teaching, virtual classrooms or digital educational tools may be an advantage.
