Bola Ahmed Tinubu Reacts to Jos Attack as Plateau Enforces Curfew and Security Measures

Today, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to provide a detailed briefing on the Palm Sunday night attack in the Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North Local Government Area. He also updated the President on the proactive steps taken by the state government to address the situation. While the incident was deeply unfortunate, the governor confirmed that calm has now been restored.

In response to the attack, Governor Mutfwang swiftly implemented several measures, including the imposition of a 48-hour curfew to contain the crisis. The state government also reinforced the existing ban on motorcycle operations within the Greater Jos Master Plan and convened an emergency State Security Council meeting to strengthen security and prevent further escalation.

To ease the impact on residents, the curfew was relaxed this morning from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., allowing people to attend to essential activities. However, some miscreants took advantage of this window to engage in looting and attempted to disrupt the peace in parts of the city.
