Naira Records Significant rise Against US Dollar At Official Markets

The Naira saw a huge increase in value compared to the United States dollar in both official and unofficial currency markets, finishing the week on a really positive note.

The information from the Central Bank of Nigeria revealed that on Friday, the Naira increased in value to N1,386.55 for each dollar, rising from N1,396.99 that it was worth on Thursday.

This indicates that the Naira gained N10.44 in value compared to the dollar in just one day.

In the same way, on the black market, the Naira rose by N10 to end the day at N1,470 on Friday, going up from N1,480 the day before.

More details showed that the Naira increased by N35.08 at the official market and N20 at the black market when looking at the numbers for the week.

Naira is getting stronger in the foreign exchange markets because the country’s foreign reserves increased to $46.18 billion on January 29th, 2026, which is a big jump from the $46.01 billion that was traded the previous Friday.
