Plateau State University, Bokkos (PLASU) Senate has officially announced new dates for its 8th and 9th Combined Convocation Ceremonies, bringing clarity to graduands, parents, and members of the university community. The announcement was made following a Senate meeting aimed at finalizing preparations for the long-awaited academic event.
According to the university, the combined convocation will hold on Saturday, February 14, 2026, and will cover graduands from the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions, as well as eligible postgraduate students. The ceremony will feature the award of first degrees, higher degrees, diplomas, and the conferment of other academic honours in line with PLASU’s academic calendar.

As part of the convocation arrangements, the university has released detailed guidelines for the collection of academic gowns. In a memo dated February 10, 2026, the Registrar, Yakubu F. Ayuba, directed all graduands to report to their respective faculties or the Postgraduate School for gown collection ahead of the ceremony. This step is expected to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated convocation exercise.
The Senate-approved charges for academic gowns have been fixed at ₦2,000 for undergraduate graduands and ₦5,000 for postgraduate graduands. Payments are to be made strictly via the Remita platform in favour of Plateau State University, Bokkos. All payments must be verified by Faculty Finance Officers or the Postgraduate School Finance Officer before gowns are issued.

Graduands have also been instructed to return all academic gowns on Monday, February 16, 2026. The university warned that a late return penalty of ₦500 per day will be imposed on any graduand who fails to meet the deadline, stressing the need for full compliance with the directive.
The PLASU Senate urged all affected graduands to adhere strictly to the announced guidelines, noting that the measures are designed to ensure orderliness, accountability, and a successful convocation ceremony. Further updates and official instructions, the university assured, will be communicated through appropriate channels.
