NYSC Camp Registration: Requirements for Married Women

Married women (female) prospective corps members participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme are required to provide specific documents during registration if they wish to be posted to the state where their husbands reside. The policy is designed to help married women serve closer to their spouses and maintain family unity during their service year.

To qualify for relocation based on marital status, married women must ensure that all required documents are uploaded correctly during the registration process and presented when necessary. Failure to provide complete and valid documentation may affect the approval of the request.

One of the key documents required is a valid marriage certificate. This serves as official proof of marriage and helps NYSC verify the applicant’s marital status. The certificate should be clear, authentic, and contain the correct details of both spouses.

Applicants are also expected to provide a newspaper change of name publication where applicable. This document is especially important for women who have adopted their husband’s surname after marriage and need to establish a link between their maiden and married names.

In addition, a copy of the husband’s valid identification card and a recent utility bill are required. The utility bill helps confirm the residential address of the husband, while the ID card serves as proof of identity and supports the relocation request.
